Meanwhile our President celebrated his 50th birthday with 5 separate birthday parties including the one at the White House where, according the the news, danced for house and lead the conga line.
(I do hope that the news report was an exaggeration...)
Don't get me wrong,
I have absolutely nothing against President Obama celebrating his birthday
with his family and close friends
but was a celebrity filled blow out barbecue at the White House appropriate
in the same week as the US was being downgraded by S&P?
Are you getting that 1929 kind of feeling?

What a great post, finance is not my strong point so I have been trying to get to grips with this today.
We really really really need to worry. We really really really need to get this man our of our White House. All of us need to work on behalf of "anyone else" who runs for POTUS. Good post, excellent post. I'm going to put up a link on my blog.

With respect, I certainly hope you are wrong and that 1929 will never repeat itself.
I think we should stop listening to the media - America will survive, it has the hardest working people in the world, who know how to work. I am looking forward to the younger graduates running this country.
We must remain positive and hopeful

You bet I just talked about taking my meager savings out of the bank.
It is scary as hell. The prices at the groc store keep going up!
Thanks for speaking up.

AMEN TO ALL YOU SAID. I found your through Marsha over at Splenderosa, it is so shocking whats going on! To think that congress is off for their normal month vacation while our country is in ruins, the fingancial market in dire straits, the FAA situation still in limbo, then 30 of our brave Navy Seals tragically lost their lives yesterday, the worst loss of life in a single day since the war began ALL BECAUSE HE DIDN'T UPHOLD HIS PROMISE TO END THE WAR WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD along with every thing else he fed to the American people. I have never been so disgusted with the government as I am today. It is a sad day for America.
