A little Saturnalia On Samhain

Indian summer has finally arrived in Los Angeles, with bright sunny days and clear cool nights. Last night from the hills of Bel Air at twilight, the view from downtown Los Anageles to the beach,
looked something like this
And in the early evening when the stars were just starting to show, there was one particularly bright light in the sky.  I assumed that it was the planet Venus.
But what do I know about astronomy...
You're right, absolutely nothing
There just happened to be a telescope on the terrace and this is what the bright light turned out to be
Astounding, isn't it. I was also able to see 2 of Saturn's moons
So two months early, let me be the first to wish you

Happy Monday!

Wow, that's so cool! I used to have a telescope but have never seen Saturn.

Absolutely brilliant that you could see Saturn through the telescope! Umm it is freezing up here! -1 last night and a high today of about 7. Even a little snow yesterday! enjoy while it lasts

Oh how beautiful! I'd love to see that with my own eyes.

Dear Belle, I love the view! The Actor wants to know if you took the picture of saturn yourself? He has a telescope and has gone mental on astronomy and Carl Sagan at the moment xx

That is absolutely amazing. I didn't realize you could really see something like that with a home telescope!

Sending you a smile for the week to come,

Christina, that is not my photo, but it was probably taken with a telescope similar to the one that I was using.
Can the actor borrow a telescope just to see how he likes it?
Trust me, look at Saturn and its moons was pretty impressive.

That view of LA is one of my favourite sights in the world.
