Things That Make Me Go Arrrrgh

I suppose that most of you were raised with a certain list of rules for behavior as I was.
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all
Speak quietly and use proper English
Don't bring attention to yourself
Never, never brag about your accomplishments or expect credit for anything you've done
Yes, I'm sure that you all know the list
In spite of this blog, in person you would find me to be a wallflower type...at at social event, I would be the quiet woman at the side of the room nursing her glass of wine watching everyone else...in fact you probably wouldn't even notice me.
But when it is business all these rules go by the wayside because at Beladora we don't have a publicist or a marketing department. Well, actually I take that back.  I am the publicist and the marketing department, as well as many other things and that is the primary reason that I started this blog.
And, when I see beautiful Beladora jewelry in publications, without credit, it makes me go arrrgh.
Take these gorgeous images from Elle.com for example
Great image isn't it but the snake necklaceturquoise ring, and turquoise bracelet are from Beladora.com with no credit (and those look an awful lot like our david webb earrings too).
OK, let's see, vintage doorknocker earrings, turquoise ring, turquoise bracelet and link bracelet from Beladora.com , once again with no credit.
The vintage coral ring and diamond ring, weingrill coral bracelet, marina b bracelet and vintage tassel bracelet are also not credited.
And here we have the vintage gold collar necklace and black onyx ring, once again from Beladora.com.

Don't get me wrong, we are thrilled to have our awesome estate jewelry shown in Elle.com.
But if our competition is getting credit  for her estate jewelry on the Elle website, we would like to be credited too.
And, I'm promoting my brand and coming out right here in full bragging mode and telling you that Beladora estate jewelry rocks.
No other vintage jewelry website has as wide of a variety of exceptional pieces at attractive prices...or the friendly customer service...or the easy returns...as Beladora.com does.

Lovely pieces. You are right to be irritated. Time to speak up. Apply the heat.

The rules only apply to our own family and our own people. For outsiders, and for those who have harmed us: no mercy.

And no, we seriously doubt you would be the ignored woman standing against the wall nursing a glass of chard. Quite the contrary, judging by the photos and your personality expressed in these pages.

You're doing a splendid job.

Oh, no, That is outrageous.

You have such beautiful pieces, so creative and covetable. (I admit, I do.)

Let's do a blog together chez moi. What do you say?

I would steal those images right back and use them in my own advertising campaign. They look like expensive photos and they have saved you a lot of money and provided you with the perfect campaign...milk it..

That's just plain rude not to get a credit on Elle - you should get them to publish your credits in the next edition by way of an apology.

Thank you everyone for allowing me to vent. I try to keep it all under control but having an internet business is a 24/7 type of business and promoting it is actual work.
Ah...but like Zappos, our business is fun and a little weird and that makes is all worth it.

What? Did they borrow it for a shoot and not credit you? You need to have a conversation with the editor you dealt with, no?

That's not bragging, that's expecting common decency. They should make amends somehow.

Wow, I'd be irritated too. That's just negligent on their part.

You should speak to the person you lent them to and if it's online make sure you are credited straight away. If it's in the magazine I doubt they will do anything now unfortunately. You absolutely should be credited!! xx
