According to Bazaar in the list of top twenty trends
the new look in jewelry will be Lucite and Bakelite bangles
like this one from designer Mark Davis.

Mark Davis Lucite and semi-precious gemstone bangles $1600-$3200 (yikes!)
Here are the other overpriced Mark Davis pieces at BarneysOK...so call me a boring traditionalist but I just can't see spending over $1000 on Lucite, Bakelite of any other plastic type material that has zero intrinsic value....semi-precious stones or no.

UnoAErre tri-color gold cuff bracelet in 18K $1250
I'd much rather have this tri-color 18k bracelet by Italian design house UnaAErre
Would you consider buying $1600 Lucite or Bakelite Bangles?

Wow! I'd go for the gold anytime! Obviously. But this is a truly a great price too.
I don't get it. Who would buy this stuff, at these price points?
Simply put? NO!
Karrinska, the same people who pay over $1000 for a costume necklace by Lanvin.
