Sunday Hike With Snakes and Shorts

Just another non-eventful Sunday on the hiking trail.
Except for the 3 foot long rattle snake that crossed the trail right in front of me.
Luckily, when I walk alone I tend to keep my head down, concentrating on the trail and whatever I'm listening to on my ipod. If I hadn't been focusing on looking down, I could have easily stepped on the snake.

And speaking of snakes
This is what I was listening to on my ipod.
If you have not read The Big Short you need to do so right away.
No one tells a true financial tale like Michael Lewis.

Yikes! We used to get rattlesnakes where I lived up north. They'd come into the yard during the dry summer and fall months looking for water. Glad you saw him first!

That is so scary, rattle snakes are terrifying! (especially after watching some discovery channel show last summer about horrible animal attacks, haha) Glad you made it out alive!

Yikes! I don't think anyone can claim their Californian badge until they have nearly stepped or sat on a rattler:).

Isn't it not safe to listen to audio books whilst (god, I hate that word) walking in the outback of LA?!?

Pseu, yikes is right!
Rachel, it was iffy but yes, I made it out alive!
LPC, you're right...you can't really live here for any period of time and not have a rattler run in.
Jill, at least I come by my snakes whilst walking...and not in my yard like you do in El Paso!

Awesome book. Highly recommended.

The only snakes I see are the occasional California Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula californiae), LA Lakers player, and Hollywood celebrity.
