Can you imagine Carla Bruni Sarkozy sporting such nonsense?
Jewelry Whore has a new and improved site full of stuff about Peruvian opals...which I like and Michelle Obama's "found objects-art project" jewelry which I think is an embarrassment.
My favorite gossip girl from Gem Gossip has posted on InStyle's article on what's inside celebrity jewelry boxes
and some great vintage jewelry finds for under $250 including pieces from Beladora2.com.
Wired magazine has an in depth article on The Untold Story World's Biggest Diamond Heist full of shady diamond dealers and Italian mafiosi.

I admit that I won't be rushing to knock off the Obama necklace! Not my style...
Wendy, I think that Mrs. Obama does a disservice to real jeweler designers, such as yourself, by wearing this garbage.
Does she only vacillate be trashy costume jewlery and Loree Rodkin?
Why isn't she wearing up an coming American jewelry designers such as Rhonda Faber Green or Wendy B?
Well, I'm certainly in favor of change. Yes, we can!
But really, what IS that thing?
Thanks so much for posting about my new blog! And I know I'm in the minority, but I like her necklace... Or, rather, I like the fact that she takes crazy chances! :)
Hi Jade, I love your new site!
I think that the art-project jewelry is great for celebrities and designers...just not for the First Lady who I believe should be promoting American fine jewelry designers.
Costume jewelry that comes straight off of a factory assembly line from some 3rd world country is not appropriate. There are plenty of American designers who create avant garde jewelry...if she wants to take some chances with her look.
Wendy...why don't you send Mrs. Obama some jewelry on memo!!
since the obama's frequently try to emulate "camelot;" not only would jackie o. never slouch her shouders, she would never ever wear something that ghastly. an ivy ed. doesn't automatically endow you with style. or taste.
