So it's all over the news that Barak Obama has bought Michelle a little gift to thank her for her support over the last two years, a diamond ring by italian jeweler Giovanni Bosca in rhodium.
God knows she deserves something nice....something very nice...but this very ring....and for $30,000?
According to the Independent
The Harmony ring, which Bosco's spokespeople call the company's "top of the range piece", is so sumptuous that even the jeweller will not disclose its true cost. (sic)
(Take it from me, the jeweler won't disclose the true price because it actually cost so little to make and he is probably selling it for quadruple key)
With the economy in the skids, you would think that President Elect Obama would maybe consider purchasing the bling from an American jeweler such as Oscar Heyman, Harry Winston, Seaman Schepps, Tiffany & Co., David Yurman or Hammerman Brothers. Yeah, even the Americans know how to work in rhodium.
While Politico.com is reporting that the story is untrue, I'm guessing that he's buying something awesome for his wife. I just hope that with future purchases he will make a greater effort to support American business.
