Beladora On The Red Carpet or Shameless Self Promotion Saturday

Yes people I'm afraid that I must gasconade, rodomontade and grandstand a bit today about Beladora.*

First we had the beautiful Christina Hendricks sporting some lovely ladylike pearl and diamond dangle earrings and a South Sea pearl and diamond ring with her Christian Siriano frock at the Creative Emmy Awards.
She looked a-ma-zing in her Madame X inspired gown.
Then we had the queen of the red carpet, indeed the queen of all entertainment news, Mary Hart, wearing plenty of  Beladora bling for the Emmys.
Here are the earrings

Do you see the little clips on the outside vine of the earrings? Around the office we refer to these as the 'elfin earrings' because they can be worn hanging down from the ear as on Mary Hart, or attached up along the ear with the little clips, as we imagine the elf queen Galadriel would wear on her pointy elf ears in The Lord of The Rings.
Yes, we amuse ourselves with these details at work.

Take Ivy - Don't Date Ivy

Another amusing post from Dealbreaker.com
about a dating site that connects Harvard  B School boys with non Harvard babes
Have Women Pay To Worship Your Harvard Business School Educated Ass
The new dating site matches males who have Harvard MBAs with discerning females who do not. The best part, if you’re a cheap bastard and/or really taken by yourself, is that all the men have to do is sign up, free of charge, and the chicks have to pay for the honor of possibly dating you.

Dealbreaker's sister site Above The Law had this post about DateHarvardSQ
Date Harvard Men Without Streetwalking Down Mass Ave
You know the old joke: How many Harvard men does it take to screw in a light bulb? Just one; he holds the bulb in place while the world revolves around him.

Now there’s a dating site dedicated to bringing the Crimson and their sycophants together. As they say in Wicked, “they deserve each other.”
Some of them think that just by dint of having gone to Harvard, people will love them, respect them, and shower them with jobs and money. They even make up special phrases for mentioning where they go/went to school, like “dropping the H-Bomb.”  Good God, get over yourselves.

As Bess pointed out, the beauty of the site is that women have to pay — and, one would hope, engage in some sort of oil-enhanced wrestling match — for the opportunity to even send an email to Harvard guys. That’s right, throughout mammalian evolution, the males have battled for the right to access females; but I guess once you go to Harvard, you can tell Darwin to suck on your prestige.

The BHB take on all this
Leave the effete Harvard boys to their sycophants and stick with Stanford men!

We Get Quoted Sometimes But So Does Mrs. Jones

Yes, sometimes we get quoted saying truly erudite things about estate jewelry and vintage charm bracelets and such in the all important trade magazines like Rapaport, the bible of the diamond business.
Don't worry my lovely friends, I won't requote myself here and make you all yawn.

I'd much rather that you went to Chrisina Lindsey's Fashion's Most Wanted to read her incredible interview with the model, stylist, dj, designer, renaissance woman etc., Fee Doran, aka Mrs. Jones.

God, I'm glad that I've had such a staid life...I couldn't have survived as many reincarnations as Fee Doran has had throughout her creative career.

Around Town - Champagne Cocktails at Christofle's Haute Couture Workshop

On my quickly growing list of events to attend in September
The Master Silversmiths of Christofle's Haute Couture Workshop, located in Normandy, France, use traditional metalworking techniques to produce all of Christofle's handmade pieces. Such works include limited editions, museum recreations, and one-of-a-kind designs that range from petite salt cellars to palace doors.
I love to learn about the creative process behind all fine craftsmanship, including sterling silver and gold metal work and where better to learn about this than Christofle.

BTW, Beladora has been on a jewelry buying rampage over the last couple of months, as to be expected,
but did you know that Beladora also buys sterling silver and gold boxes and objects d'art.
So if you are getting bored with that old set of Tiffany sterling silverware or that gold Cartier cigarette box, you know who to call.

Around Town - The Taste of Beverly Hills

So many restaurants....so little time...

The event schedule
The restaurants
The wineries

Since I tweaked my back in Mexico (don't ask) and have now had to cancel my weekly training sessions at the gym, there will be no superfluous wining and dining for me.
But for everyone else
Bon Appetit!
