Anti Anorexia Push in Paris

The I Prefer Paris blog has posted on the new legislation in France to punish websites that promote anorexia.
In an attempt to crack down on anorexia, French lawmakers are looking to punish websites that encourage and advise anorexics on how to starve. (One tells you how to survive on literally an apple a day). Recommending fines of up to 45,000 euros and three-year prison sentences for offenders who encourage “extreme thinness”(what the hell does that mean? Talk about vague. Or maybe Vogue), the French government is serious about promoting healthy body images of women. The bill would make it illegal to "provoke a person to seek excessive weight loss by encouraging prolonged nutritional deprivation that would have the effect of exposing them to risk of death or directly compromise health."
While I'm in general against over regulation by government I think that this is a good thing. I've already posted on the preference for anorexic models for the Paris runway shows, not only for women but for men as well.
Will this new legislation make any difference? Probably not. But, at least there is some recognition that this isn't a healthy trend.

Edward Lorenz the Father of Chaos Theory

Chaos...that to some degree what my life is all about. Yours too?
Well Edward Lorenz, the man who taught us all about Chaos Theory has just died.
His studies led him to develop what became known as the "butterfly effect." The term stemmed from his 1972 academic paper "Predictability: Does the Flap of a Butterfly's Wings in Brazil Set off a Tornado in Texas?"
What A Girl Wants
Some girls are looking for love...and some girls are looking for a launch.
Manolo
Linda Grant
Kristopher Dukes
Glenn Reynolds (yeah, in my dreams)
Where are you?
OK, maybe not a launch but a link would do.
(shamless self promotion I admit)

High End Hooker Heels

The Daily Mail today has a report on how high heels can go. Apparently up to 7 inches...with some serious platforms.
Can somebody please tell me when it became acceptable to wear stripper shoes.
