You made what, something like $6.5 million in 2009
and some $28 million over the course of your career
Do you think that gives you the right to throw a tantrum on the court?
I'm glad that you got fined $82,500 for your tirade at the US OpenBut maybe in addition to the fine
the US Tennis Association should have insisted that you read this book
I See Rude People
by LA blogger Amy Alkon
Maybe if you become a regular reader of Amy's Advice Goddess blog you might get the message that it's not all about you
Serena, hands down you are the very best
and we love you and your fabulous fashions
so show some class and graciousness on the court and off
your fan,
Belle

Thank you, Belle...truly appreciate this. And I like Serena and hope she will do better in the future. Sometimes one slip can be a great preventative measure!
And, P.S., I didn't write this book because I have perfect manners...I just always try to recognize where I'm bad and try to be better.
I agree it's not very refined but if someone was making a call that could cost me hundreds of thousands I might get heated xo
Money taints people a lot. Manners are free, they cost nothing. Fine to object but do it with reason and decorum.
Kpeach: Anyone who has been as successful as Serena Williams should be no less than gracious...especially when there are a coupld of hundred thousand dollars on the line.
Serena is a public person and she should strive to set an example.
Amy: None of us have perfect manners yet most of us strive to be polite and I applaud your effort to bring our attention to the fact that things have gotten out of control especially where technology and over indulged children come in.
Make Do Style: Sometimes the best things in life, like manners, are free.
I totally agree with you on this. Great post. Have a wonderful day.
I agree with you about Serena.
Couldn't agree more. She was starting to remind me of a female McEnroe. There are several ways to make your point and throwing a fit isn't really going to achieve much more, except annoy whoever's in charge and everyone else watching. If everyone acted like her when they felt they were in the wrong, the world would be one screwed up and unpleasant place to live in....
